An urban public art event showcasing Tokyo’s uniqueness.
This project aims to create an experimental art space that combines innovations in communications technology with the latest media technology resulting from research and development by Rhizomatiks, the company responsible for developing the production technology and AR and video projection elements featured in the Tokyo 2020 Games presentation at the closing ceremony in Rio 2016. It will feature live events and new hands-on interactive installations of light and sound that make full use of the hosting venue and surrounding urban environment.
Rhizomatiks was incorporated in 2006, hoping to bring social change by fostering the collaboration between media art, industry, and business. Committed to pushing the envelope of possibility, Rhizomatiks will redouble its proactive collaboration with external artists and world class scientists for a mutual sharing of expertise and inspiration to forge the unexplored creative realms that will contribute to the advancement of art and society. It also aims to ensure that its groundbreaking research and expressive activities also serve as a form of human resource development that will transform society.
